Troy...you're right, many people are wound up way to tight,if someone wants bottled water from fiji, so what? They pay the price, the fijians have a job, shipping companies have freight, they're employees get paid, and on it goes. above every other consideration we must be free to make our own choices.

Americans have spent profligately for years-myself included. the current downturn will soon begin to weed out alot of careless consumption. My wife and have cut back severely on all but essentials-and bottled water is hardly an essential.

Bottled water is convenient and that's why so many people drink it. If you are at a sports event, theatre, movies or the airport you may want to drink water and it's not enough just to have a drinking fountain. Sodas are the #1 consumed beverage and yet they get no heat for why we drink so much or how it is 'hurting' the environment and I wonder why? Water is better for you and I rather buy a bottle of water than a bottle of soda and I don't see anything wrong with that. If you like tap water you don't have to buy bottled water but I see nothing wrong with those of us that do.

Here's another unintended consequence: Because bottled water is so heavy relative to its volume, warehouse and distribution centers have had to purchase much larger fork lift trucks to move all those bottles around. Here's another increase in energy consumption.
I know this because I spent a year managing a magazine called Material Handling Management; among our advertisers were those forklift vendors who had to produce all those heavy duty forklifts.

Fishman's article blew me away. I felt ashamed, ignorant and moved all at the same time. I would love to support Neau but their site is not in English. Even a few of those bottles would be a great way to get their word out. But I'm English only.

I was with the Lipton Tea company in the 80's and 90's
and watched the bottled water industry volcano; I thought then it was smoke and mirrors. I have to give them many marketing points and I'm sure there is much crossover between those consumers and 4Bucks'.
I keep my money and drink tea!
